Ákos - Majom a ketrecben [Andante version]
.
The song's title means "Monkey in the cage". It's original version is a rock song, that's released in 2002, on the "Új Törvény" (New Law) album. This version is a lyrical remake of the song, recorded on the Andante concert, in 2003.
In my opinion, both versions are perfect. This isn't the first song, which has lyrical and rock representation too, but it's different from those cases. In the case of other lyrical-rock pairs, you can recognise which was the first version, just by listening them - you can feel, that which version derives from the other. But if you hear the two "Majom a ketrecben" versions, you are unable to decide which is the first (if you don't know the albums and the publication dates), because both versions are so unique.
The song tells about a love, when one suppresses her lover. Akosh resembles himself to a monkey, that's suffering in his cage. Here's a translation for the text:
original . Van olyan, aki nyugodt, hallgatag . Megy a műsor . Döntened kell, mi a fontosabb . Megy a műsor . Csak bámul és etet . Annak akarsz látni |
| 'Monkey in the cage' ![]() . Someone calm, quiet . The show''s on . You must decide, what''s more important . The show''s on . She just watches and feeds me . You want to see me | |
